The New Gong Book of Contemporary Nigerian Art: Call for Essays

The New Gong proposes to publish the above-titled book. As well as showcasing the
best of contemporary Nigerian art between 2000 and 2010, we also aim to include a
number of essays from selected contributors in order to illuminate the themes and styles
of the works chosen. Publication online through amazon.com is scheduled for mid-2013.
The aim is to produce an authoritative, high-quality book for both the domestic and the
international markets

It is envisaged that contributors will be drawn from professional artists alongside
academicians, administrators, collectors, dealers and patrons.
Essays should not exceed 2,500 words and should be sent as an attachment in Microsoft
Word format. They should also include the author’s bio-data in no more than 250 words.

not meet the required standard.
